Our Pet List

Who We Are
All dogs are seen by a vet and given all shots, tested for heartworms, spayed or neutered, treated for any known illnesses or medical problems, micro-chipped and groomed.
We do not have a shelter, all of our rescued schnauzers stay in loving foster homes until a forever home can be found. Also, if you submit an application we will arrange a time for you to visit and meet the dog that you are interest in. You can send an online application here Adoption Application
Adoption Process
St. Louis Schnauzer Rescue requires a securely fenced in yard for the safety of our rescued dogs. (Invisible fencing is not considered safe or secure). SLSR does not adopt rescued schnauzers into homes with children 8 years of age or younger. We require a reference from YOUR (not a friends, relatives, etc.) Veterinarian to make sure the new family has been a responsible owner with current and previous pets (shots, heartworm, etc.) We do not knowingly place dogs that bite or are terminally ill. We do not adopt dogs out as a surprise or a gift. We MUST talk to the person who will be adopting the dog, NO EXCEPTIONS. In all cases, the final placement decision is based on the suitability of each dog for a particular home and will not be made until the application has been approved, references checked and the homevisit has been completed. We reserve the right to reject those applicants that do not meet our adoption criteria.
More dogs are always coming into rescue. Sometimes they are never posted if we have a suitable approved adoption application on file. If you don't see something that fits your needs right now, please submit an application so we can keep it on file.
